Reasons to See a Dietitian

There are many reasons to see a dietitian!

1. You’re in a bad relationship with food

If you have a love/hate relationship with food, it’s time to change that and create a love/love relationship instead! Eating should be for nourishment AND enjoyment!

2.  You’re iron deficient

Did you know that iron deficiency is the most common nutrient deficiency in the world? It’s also the most common among toddlers and preschool aged children. Learn how to tweak your diet and incorporate key foods and ingredients to help resolve iron deficiency and keep it from returning.

3. You want to eat like _____

If you’ve ever thought about becoming paleo, vegetarian, vegan, flexitarian, or any other food-ian, make sure you get guidance on how to do it in a healthy way!

4. You’re in pain

Get relief from foods that cause you pain. In IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrom), certain foods can trigger digestive pain. Unfortunately, the problems can be very individualized; it’s not always the same foods that cause pain in all IBS sufferers. A dietitian can play detective and help figure out which foods are causing you grief!

5. You have high blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, etc

Use food to take back control!. The food you eat plays a huge role in the progression of these blood markers to a diagnosis for diabetes, hypertension, etc. But there are many small changes you can make that can have a major impact on your health!

6. You’re healthy!

This might sound strange, but why should it be strange to go for a nutrition check-up?  You take yourself and your children for annual checkups to the Doctor. You trust that your Doctor will find any problems while they are still small and correct them before they snowball into a larger problem. A Dietitian can can help pinpoint whether you should be eating more or less of a particular nutrient (or offering more or less to your children)

7. You’re pregnant, lactating or would like to achieve either state

Learn about which foods can affect fertility, maximize the health of your baby, and give you the best chance at successfully breastfeeding.

8. You have unique genes

The genes you possess determine how the food you eat affects the health of your body. Through Nutrigenomix, Dietitians can get your genes analyzed to give personalized nutrition recommendations that would be optimized for your genes, such as whether you should be extra concerned about getting enough folate or whether consuming too much caffeine increases your risk of heart disease.

Bonus – Most Benefits Packages Cover the Cost!

Many people don’t realize that their benefits package covers all or most of the cost of seeing a dietitian.  Check out your benefits to see if you can come see me for free!
